6/01  First Anniversary 1

It's been a year since I launched this website.

Various things have happened, but somehow I managed to get over a year.

I'd like to have this opportunity to say thank you, to the people who often drop by to check out this site, as well as to those who happened to come by for the first time today, for dealing with this spineless Caterpillar's baloney.

6/02  First Anniversary 2

Well, on this memorable occasion of our first anniversary, I'd like to look back on what has happened this year. However, I'm afraid that it's gonna be a great task to review this whole site, so as a spineless Caterpillar, I think I'll just look over this 'Murmur' for now.

6/03  First Anniversary 3

Hmmmn, now let's take a look on what I wrote in this 'Murmur' a year ago, that is to say on June 1st, 2006 ... .

It said things about opening this site. Ohhh, I knew it, that wasn't unpredictable. It said something like 'regards everyone' on the opening of this site. And I've also written that 'I'm ready and eager to write and introduce the most Japan-like parts of Japan, that are usually forgotten in our busy modern life', in a couple of simple sentences.

6/04  First Anniversary 4

Wooow.

I WAS eager all right. So I briefly looked through the earlier version of this 'Murmur' day by day, and there was the story about the hard drive of Cow's PC breaking down (oh, I got really exhausted that time, since several things seemed to happen all at once like Obaba's short-term hospital admission because of mild pneumonia, or my daily visit to the veterinarian due to Mikeco's loss of appetite), or about the rainy season staying too long. I've been writing silly little things that don't matter to most of you anyhow.

6/05  First Anniversary 5

Looks like I've been writing quite a lot every day back then. Yes, and I've decided to make it a little shorter some time later, thinking that the readers must get tired and boring reading such long sentences every day.

Of course, I did that because it also helped me work less and save some time. Well you see, I'm a spineless Caterpillar after all.

6/06  First Anniversary 6

I've written about the final game at the summer Koushien (that final game was really great), a breathtaking mound duel between Yuuki Saito who is now trying to establish his baseball career, in Waseda University's baseball team and Masahiro Tanaka, who now plays a large part as a rotation pitcher in the professional baseball team, Touhoku Rakuten Golden Eagles (isn't this team name too long?).

6/07  First Anniversary 7

I've written about the places which I think you should definitely go when visiting Guam, (I wonder if the Southern Comfort Ranch is still running, as for Tsuruya Cafe, the Christmas card that I've sent last year has been returned, since it was 'unable to forward'. If anyone knows anything about them, please drop a line at our message board.) and I've also written about how to remember the order of planets, or about the Japanese crab boat being prized by Russia.

Geeee. I've been working unflinchingly(?) on current topics too.

Anyway, since when did the short versions of this 'Murmur' appear? I searched and found out that it started from August 29th 2006, from the story about the Autistic Boy Y.

6/09  First Anniversary 9

That was about 3 months after I've started this 'Murmur'.

Having noticed that my writing could be too much for a day, I've contrived a style that won't make the readers as tired as before. Well, hopefully at least a little less tired. No matter how small and puny my brains can be, I AM thinking you know, although of course I wouldn't have come up with such an idea without Cow's suggestion.

6/10  First Anniversary 10

Looking back like this, it seems that I've been writing about various things. If this 'Murmur' lasts long enough for a couple of years, maybe I could gather them up and it might even make a book. (Publishing offers are always welcomed, if my poor writing will do.)

As I've managed to celebrate this site's first anniversary, looking back on the things that I've written in the past year, I'd also like to have this opportunity to pick up some of the stories from the past 'Murmur's, that have sequels to it.

The End

6/12  Sequels of the Past 'Murmur's 1

Starting from the old ones, let me write about the sequels to the 'Murmur' of July 20th and 21st 2006, 'My Struggles Against Wart Removers'.

Well, despite my struggles, my wart didn't seem to come off at all ... .

This won't work, I thought and left the wart there on my knee, after I've used up a box of wart removers. Then, approximately 3 months later ... . One night as I was gonna take a bath, I happened to catch a sight of my knee without much attention, and wh .. wh ..whhaaaaattt!

It's gone! Where was the wart that used to be on my knee right there!?

Woooowww, this is great! But why? I haven't done anything special like putting on medicine or consulting a doctor for treatment.

So I tried looking back on my ususal lifestyle pattern since July 21st, to see if there weren't any changes in my behaviors or circumstances. I don't think there were any ... (!!) It's the bath! It must be because I've come to soak myself in the bathtub every day!

6/15  Sequels of the Past 'Murmur's 4

I had mostly been taking a shower instead of soaking myself in the bathtub around July 21st last year (to save the water bills), though of ourse, I'd been taking a shower every day to keep clean. But since I originally loved taking baths, I couldn't stand it and started to soak myself in the tub again, from somewhere around August.

It has to be the bath. By soaking myself in hot water every day, my blood circulation must have improved as well as my metabolism, and my wart becoming part of the dead skin cells must have come off before I knew it did, as my skin got softened in the everyday soak-in-the-bath.

6/17  Sequels of the Past 'Murmur's 6

I guess the stubborn wart that stayed on my knee even after I've used up a box of wart removers, must have been beyond the everyday 'bath power'. As for my knee, a slight mark was left where the wart used to be at the time, but now after about 11 months from then, you can hardly tell whether it's there or not.

6/18  Sequels of the Past 'Murmur's 7

For people around the world who are suffering from warts or corns, I would definitely recommend an everyday soak-in-the-bath.

In the 'Murmur' of 'Taking off Weight' modified on Wednesday, August 16th last year, I've written that 'If I can do these exercise for a year every day, I'm sure that my photo book would become a best-seller if I ever make one ... '.

As already expected, it was impossible to do these exercise every day, however, I have been working on the '22 different exercise' which were '7 different exercise to take off the skin pouch under my arms, 4 to make my sagging stomach a washboard, 5 to tone up my flanks, and 6 in order to acquire an elegantly-sculpted back', twice a week (once a week these days) since then.

6/20  Sequels of the Past 'Murmur's 9

Added to this, I have also been working on aerobic exercise for 50 minutes a day, 4 days a week. Surprisingly, if I say so myself.

But when I measured myself a couple of days ago, my waist size hadn't changed a bit, and so was my weight ... . What were these 10 months for? It felt like such a waste of time, so I cut corners the following week but then, I suddenly lost about 6 pounds in just a week.

Heeeeyyyy, so it seems that it's finally brought some effects here. Though that was a brief moment of satisfaction, since I weighed 8 pounds heavier having gone to eat Yakiniku (Korean style BBQ) on Sunday, after the Japanese D'erby (not to mention I lost) was run ... .

So I only gain after all.

There were also the series of the 'Businessmen's Dialogue' starting from September 19th, Tuesday. In this series I've wrote that I've found various attractions that could interest both adults and children tourists, but since there were so many of them, I've written that 'I'll try writing reports introducing them one at a time' ... .

I'm sooorryy, I haven't been practicing that at all, I admit it.

It does sound like an excuse, but even if I've found many attractive spots, going there myself is a whole different story, you know. Well, as I tend to perform terribly bad under pressure, it would be nice of you if you kept waiting without much expectation, thank you.

Oooohhh, mmaaannn, this really was long. I went on and on sort of moaning (no, not 'sort of', it was actually just moans and complaints, I admit) endlessly (until this series counted 86!!), that I'm afraid many viewers might have stopped comimng. I deeply, ddeeeeppply regret it, really.

I've regretted it so, that I've tried to contrive a new style of writing about the troublesome people of my family, to make it at least a little more enjoyable (so it won't be too moanish), from the series of 'My Toilet Paper Game' that started on Wednesday, February 28th this year.

Writing about 'Troublesome People ...', the replanted hydrangea that JoOusama had made such a fuss about survived the replanting, rooted in its new place aand flowered again this year, despite her worries that it might 'wither' because of little sunlight and poor ventilation.

Though she still seems to be unsatisfied, saying that the flowers 'look meager'. (Where?)

6/28  Sequels of the Past 'Murmur's 17

In the 'Murmur' that I've modified on New Year's Day this year, I've made three targets to achieve for this year, following the Japanese tradition to set goals one should achieve at the beginning of each year.

And my 3 targets were ...
1.achieve my guitar skills
2.get this website up and running
3.pull my life together and be a better caterpillar
but as I've only come halfway through this year, I'd like to announce if they had been achieved or not at the end of this year, as well as to look back on them and feel regretful (am I on the premise of not being able to achieve them already?).

After I've set myself a couple of goals, the next thing I thought that I should do was to try to achieve them in a serious stance. So I started practicing my guitar together with the beginning of the 'Warm Up Exercises' series from Sunday, January 21st.
